2017 AGPA Annual Conference held in Xiamen, China

On November 19-22, 2017, the Asian Group for Public Administration (AGPA) Annual Conference was held in Xiamen, China. 150 experts and academics from 11 countries including China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea,Philippines and so on participated in the Conference.


This Annual Conference was jointly host by Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of P.R.China and Xiamen University, and was organized by Chinese Academy of Personnel Science, School of Public Affairs, Xiamen University and Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security. The theme of the Annual Conference is Internationalization of Human Resources and Management of Skilled Migrants. Two subthemes are 1) Policy Choice of Human Resources Internationalization; 2) Good Practices of Skilled Migrants Management and Reform. During the conference, AGPA-EGPA Special Session on Asia-Europe Dialogue: Public Policy on Active Aging, the China-Japan-ROK Roundtable on Civil Service System Modernization and Special Panel of AGPA Study Group on the Role of Public Governance in Fulfilling SDGs were also held.


The Conference had received more than 40 abstracts. Four well-known experts delivered keynote speech at the plenary session. More than 40 participants delivered presentations at the parallel sessions and special panels. Five experts served as the general rapporteur and assistant rapporteurs.


During the Opening Ceremony, on behalf of Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China, Ms. Xiao Yanqian, the Deputy Director General of Department of International Cooperation of the MOHRSS delivered welcome speech. IIAS Director General Mr. Sahraoui, and AGPA President Jiang Wu also delivered welcome speeches. Two AGPA Vice Presidents, Mr. Agata Koichiro from Japan and Mr. Eko Prasojo from Indonesia delivered welcome addresses.



The AGPA Steering Committee Meeting was held on November 19.
